5 Reasons I Love Stumbleupon
1. Traffic, traffic and more traffic
Right now I have two articles with 5 star ratings on Stumbleupon. Both of which bring in consistent traffic. Over the weekend I had just under 4000 unique visitors from people stumbling just those two articles. I’ll admit those 3 days were spikes in my traffic but my site is only 3 months old so it goes to show Stumbleupon can bring in traffic for new or veteran sites.
2. Networking
I have met some really interesting people through Stumbleupon. It helps by connecting you with sites that mesh well with yours. Then you can contact each other by email and start building those link exchanges. It surprised me how active the community is on Stumbleupon.
3. Despite being influenced by money still relevant
I am aware that the Stumbleupon system can be influenced by money but I still feel that the sites I end up on are very relevant to my interest and usually quite entertaining.
4. New exposure to targeted audiences
I think there is a common misconception around the web that states all Stumbleupon traffic is random and usually not interested in your site. I feel this to be quite contrary from my personally use of Stumbleupon. When I hit that stumble button I usually end up on a site that is related to my previous thumbs-up votes. That sounds almost as targeted as search engines
5. Stumbling
Personally, I just love stumbling around the web. I find it to be a great way to get past writers block for one thing. If I can’t think of a subject to wright about, I just stumble around and after a little while something usually stirs up a idea and gives me some inspiration to get started.
