John, YouTube makes it virtually impossible to get a virus from watching a video online. I doubt that your problem is related, but I can suggest that if you do not have a virus scanner, there are some free online virus scanners that you can use. A good site to try is housecall.trendmicro.com/ also you can download a free program called Spybot Search-and-Destroy. Its a great program for weeding out those nasty little bugs.

i have the problem. (but im not sure if it is what your talking about) but the youtube virus is i cant watch youtube video’s i cant sign in and i cant press the more info button please give me advice to destroy this virus. if you know a certain download to heal it could you give me a link to it? I got a free one year subscription from a promo exactly 12 months ago.

This was the first and only false positive I have seen in the past year, which is surprising because sometimes, like mr. linux_user points out, these non major players AV programs will cause a lot of them.

My license expires on 12/19/2008 and I think this is the first anti-virus program I will actually miss. Usually I just want them to go away.

Don’t use a crappy FP prone AV like CA and you won’t have that problem.

Doug, over at CrunchGear was in contact with Google over the issue. Apparently CA is working on the issue, but I updated to the latest release about 2 mins ago and the fix has still not been implemented.
