Stephen Gammell is an American born illustrator and artist for children’s novels. Stephen is best known for his drawings in Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series of horror short stories. This is also where I first encountered Stephen’s work as a child.
Since then I have come to appreciate the more subtle details of Stephen’s work and find it even more intriguing today. Stephen is a self taught artist and it shines in his work of surreal and haunting images. Here is a collection of Drawing’s of his.

Man what a trip down memory lane, checked this book out when I was in elemetary school, these illustrations made my imagination run wild.
Definately appreciate his work much more now that I’m older, Stephen Is an awesome man for sparking my intrest in all things scary!!!!
