There has reportedly been a 4.5 magnitude earthquake near the Kingston-Poulsbo area, which is located approximately 20 miles from Seattle, WA. The Depth of the earthquake was 29.5 km (18.3 miles), which is considered a shallow-focus earthquake.
The time was exactly 5:25. I live about 50 miles from the epicenter and I could very clearly tell that it was a light earthquake, but yet still, a quite noticeable one. So far, there have been no reports on damage.

I live on a sailboat in Seattle. On January 30 at about 6am, I was awakened by the boat being jostled around. The motion was different than a wake which happens occasionally. It was an uneven motion and I asked my husband what that was. We both figured it was a wake until I got to work and heard people talking about the earthquake. I wonder if that was what I felt. Can an earthquake of that magnitude travel that far and be felt in the water? It would have been about a half hour after the reported time of the earthquake.
