This is a new Elgg theme that is based off of Pete Harris’s, Elgg example theme framework (1.0). This theme requires Elgg 1.5 and is released under a GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2.
Custom Blue is a 0.9 release due to the fact that it has not been tested on a live site. I did test it on a local install of Elgg with no problems though. It is compatible with IE7, Firefox 3.0, and Chrome 1.0.
*Notes – Renaming the theme will cause it too break. Also if you are adding text to the front page in Administration>>External Pages>>Frontpage, the information pages are reversed e.g. Lefthand is Righthand and Righthand is Lefthand
Here are a couple screen shots of the homepage and of a user profile. Notice the custom navigation bar displays differently if you are logged in or not.
If you have any questions on how to customize this theme or would like to report a bug, drop a comment below and I’ll do my best to check it out soon.
Change log:
1.0 – Corrected syntax errors in manifest.xml (more info now works)
0.9 – Initial release
The icon set I used was a free set that I altered in some simple ways. Included is my original PSD that I used to create the icons. The Icons were originally created by icojoy.com

Hi Jeremy, the theme looks really good. Would be a welcome addition to the themes on the community.elgg.org site once it’s finished/tested.
Good icon set, very useful to change the icons on the theme!
wow!!!! It’s great. congratulations!!!
yes i was just wondering the theme is nice but how do i get rid of the elgg logo and replace it with my own., Or otherwise customize it. Thanks
@Jaxmaddoc – I’ll write up a post, in the next few days, with a few quick and easy ways to customize my Elgg themes.
Very attractive theme. Why do the widgets on the dashboard and profile have no content when this theme is installed? The circle just spins around.
Hi, I would also like to know, why the widgets dont work when you use this theme.
Also some links dont work and javascript is void.
@ Shane – I build this theme based off of a skeleton theme. I only altered the layout and design and did not change the functionality of the theme. When I tested the theme the widgets did work as well as all of the links. The theme does require elgg 1.5
Thanks very much for the reply Jeremy – yea after Googling myself into a coma, I realised that it was a 1.6 thing.
I guess we will have to wait for new themes to come out.
Excellent theme though, I would love to use it for my site

Hi!
I’m trying to create a new template but I have a lot of problem.
I’m reading this http://www.themeswiki.org/Customizing_Elgg_Themes but I think this is about an old version of elgg…
Please can you send me some link where I can study how I can create a new elgg theme?
Thanks
Hello, I have written a tutorial to make this template compatible with Elgg 1.6.1. I thought this might do you some help, especially with the issue of widget disappearing.

Take care, bye …!
Great! Thanks for the insight Shouvik, I will take a look at your examples and see if I can work out the 1.6.1 bugs in my themes.

Does this article help you anyhow. I am just re-posting this in case you didn’t see the link I already posted here before.
Please, let me know if the problem with the template persists even after replacing those files.
Glad to know that it did you some help :)
Hi
The Theme looks amazing, just wondering is there a version for elgg 1.7.4?
