MixTurtle.com is a new music search website. Not quite like downloading discographies, this is anbsp; single track search engine. You can stream music off sourced websites, and it has multiple sources for the same song. Much like stumbleupon or google, except strictly for music.

So far, I’ve gotten pretty good results even in the foreign music arena. This is a pretty big one because it is difficult to find torrents for obscure bands. Combine this website with Firefox’s plugin “download helper”, and you can download songs to your collection.

Or you can add music to an online playlist… in case you are like me and have only 1 gigabyte left on your laptop, then this would be a good place to ’store’ and archive the music you like.

Now with a great music search engine, we still have to pray that corporations won’t start unleashing dummy tracks like they did to Napster. However, as of right now, they’re doing well. As a search engine though, MixTurtle shouldn’t be running into any legal difficulties.

The other thing that can be a potential downer is broken links and speed. As we know search and stream speeds depends on volume of traffic.
